Mr Marut Arthakaivalvatee, Chief Executive Officer of VGI, revealed the company's decision to pursue business expansion to exploit the growth potential of Thailand's aviation industry, especially in the low-cost carrier segment, and the company's rights to manage advertising media on Thai AirAsia flights.
The decision, he said, has been implemented by establishment of a partnership with LED Advance, with VGI controlling an up to 30% stake, which will enable VGI to increase its service coverage in the aviation setting, as LED Advance has secured the rights to manage advertising media at airports, including 25 LED screens in six AOT-run airports and seven in seven airports of the Civil Aviation Department, advertising media at 57 jet bridges in five AOT-run airports and the websites of AOT and all AOT-run airports. Initially, VGI will inject financial resources to raise LED Advance's capital to finance its plan to expand its out-of-home media solution network, especially in the aviation segment.
The entry into the field of aviation-related media is VGI's first major milestone following its move to discard the modern-trade segment. It shows the competence, visionary thinking and determination of the company's management in their efforts to maintain the company's growths and profitability rates, having decisively selected a great out-of-home media partner and abandoning a less lucrative segment.
